Vernon White

A gathering memorial on the web

Vernon White

April 29, 1933 - October 19, 2001

It's been a year now, and anyone who knew you still misses you Vernon. The flame of faith is still burning, made brighter from your presence among us. Some have even garnered the courage to keep your jokes alive. Vernon, god bless and RIP.

Vernon was a resident of Malibu for over thirty years. He passed peacefully, of natural causes, in his sleep at home late Thursday night / early Friday morning. He was born in Massachusetts and served in the Navy aboard the USS Hornet during the Korean War. Vernon moved to California in the late 1950's to stay. He fathered four children, Russell, Tammi, Josh and Harrison. He will be missed for his quick wit, charm, positive attitude and the ever-present sense of humor. He was a Writer, Poet, Road Manager, Best friend, Dog lover and Family man. He always said "Live in the moment." and, I believe he did just that. He was deeply loved by many and will be duly missed by family and friends alike. Please revisit this site more than a few times before the 20th of October to stay current of the details regarding his memorial service and after to see what develops. Thank you for your patience during these trying times.

UPDATE! Memorial Service will be at Pacific Palisades Womens Club, 901 Haverford Ave., Pacific Palisades, CA, 90272 Thomas Bros Guide Pg 631 A5, Friday the 26th of October (yes, this coming Friday) from 7PM - 10PM. Vernon was eclectic and baroque in regards to his interest as any expanse of the individual. His friends and relationships are just as varied in age and interest alike. His family wants to make it known that all are welcome; the invitation extends to the children as well, perhaps more. In lieu of flowers, that may wilt in short time, the family has requested that donations be made to the Humane Society so that our furry friends may live a long time;-?)
